2 P.M. ALICE IN WONDERLAND – Guest performance by Teater Møn

Come with Alice through the rabbit hole to a marvelous land where everything can happen. From 5 years and for everyone who wants to try something new.

3 P.M. COSTUME BUILDING WORKSHOP

Workshop for all ages: Build your own costumes out of geometric shapes!

About the performance

Come along when dancer and performer Tilde Knudsen unfolds her version of the beloved story about Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

In this visual and musical reinterpretation of the classic story we meet Alice alone on the stage surrounded by buckets of imaginative costumes in geometric shapes. The stage design is made up of barrels that hide circles, triangles and squares made of fabric and paper – all shapes we know very well. Or do we? Suddenly Alice falls through the rabbit hole! And now she starts folding and forming rabbit ears, trunks and dresses and transforms into the Cheshire Cat, the Caterpillar and all the other iconic characters in from the beloved story. As Alice says: “I know who I was, when I woke up this morning, but I think I have changed several times since then.”

Duration: 40 minutes

Age: for all children and adults from 5 years

Performer: Tilde Knudsen

Costumes: Susan Marshall

Director: Peter Kirk

Composer: Klaus Risager

Choreographic consultant: Liv Mikaela Sanz

About the costume workshop

Costume designer Susan Marshall and performer Tilde Knudsen invite you into the secret world of modular costumes where simple repetitive shapes metamorphose into a variety of different three dimensional forms. Inspired by origami techniques and modular structures, the squares, circles, triangles, crinolines and flexible tubes can be joined together, bent, moved and transformed to unfold new creative possibilities. The workshop offers a playful approach to costume building and storytelling and is open to all ages.

The Picturesque Beast is a multi-narrative film that follows an anthropomorphic wolf-like figure whose purpose is to capture the sublime nature. Set in two parallel worlds, the early Danish Golden Age (romantic era) and in a not so distant hyper-technological future.

In the story, we meet the young painter Christopher FenDweller – loosely based on both the Fenriswolf and the Golden Age painter C.W Eckersberg – working in his studio at the art academy at Charlottenborg. At the studio, he is frustrated by the lack of natural content in his paintings and decides to go on a study trip to the island of Møn to explore and encapsulate the picturesque nature.
